Here we go again!?!?

Okay Ladies- after much thought and consideration, I think we will meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7pm.  I know that won't work for everyone but it should fit most people's schedule.  (monday is FHE, Tues is scouts,YM/YW, activity days, Wednesday is institute and the weekend just doesn't work.)  maybe in another year or two we can try a morning one when there are less little ones at home???  Our first meeting will be September 20th.  One book we talked about doing is Running Barefoot, by Amy Harmon but my one concern is that it is not available at the library.  You can buy a hard copy for about $16 from or for those with a kindle it is $4 to download.  I don't want anyone to have to buy books to be part of this.  So let me know what you think- we can do Running Barefoot or we can do something that is available at the library- like A Girl of the Limberlost by Gene Stratton-Porter or you can make a suggestion of a book. If you are interested in hosting (you provide the home, the snack and lead the discussion) let me know! thanks!!

We met last night for book club- thanks Wendy for hosting!  I am ready to start doing this again on a monthly basis. Anyone interested in starting up again too????

Debra suggested reading Running Barefoot for  our next meeting.  Wondering what nights or days would work for you all.  We could meet during the day or at nights-whatever works best for those interested.

I want to read  a lot of different genres so that we can really get more people involved.  What I want most for people to understand is that if you don't finish the book or you do not like the book, you still need to come!!!  Book club is not about everyone sitting around talking about how much they love the book-it is a discussion about what people liked, disliked, loathed, loved, etc about it.  The more differing opinions about a book the better discussion that follows!  So don't think you shouldn't come because you didn't like the book!  It does not hurt my feelings if you don't like a book a I love.  I want to know what you didn't like about it and see it from someone else's view point.  If you aren't a reader, you are still invited!  You never know we may turn you into a reader eventually!!!

Happy Reading!

Ok- we have a set night and time for book club- We will be meeting on Thursday, August 23rd at 7:30pm at Wendy Brownlee's.  We are reading Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder by Joanne Fluke.  There are cookie recipes in the book- we will be serving these as refreshments.  I have a copy of the book from the library we can pass around. Just a fun, quick read to celebrate the end of summer.  Hope you can come!
